About My Practice
Hello! I’m Jennifer Madere with Intuitus Group Independent Professionals, and I’m glad you have decided to learn more about how I may be helpful to you or someone close to you. I offer individual counseling for children ages 8 and up, adolescents, and adults.
Whether you have “hit a wall” in life and need help moving onward, want to be free of past disturbing life experiences, or are seeking to have a healthier lifestyle or relationship in the future, counseling can help in your journey. Areas in which I am most experienced include:
Trauma – Having experienced or witnessed a disturbing or otherwise impactful event such as a traffic accident, abuse, failure, loss, or betrayal.
Anxiety – Including social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and generalized anxiety.
Major life changes – Including loss of a loved one, medical issues, divorce, relocation, and other impactful changes.
Depression – Situational (seemingly connected to a life stage or event), existential, clinical, and post partum.
Gifted/Talented issues – Including associated emotional, social, and relational struggles.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is an effective, evidence-based method for helping our brain digest or move past obstacles interfering with our functioning, relationships, or future goals. For example, if you experienced a stressful or disturbing event in the past, addressing that issue with EMDR will help your brain to digest the memory and associated material. Once the past material is digested/desensitized, clients find it much easier to stay fully in the present, and report they are free from feelings or beliefs about themselves previously associated with the past event(s). In addition to the areas listed above, I have specialized training to use EMDR to treat migraine headaches, complex trauma, attachment trauma, and dissociative disorders.
Choosing a counselor is an important decision! I invite you to call or email me with any questions you have that may help you discern whether I may be the best match for you or your child.

When counseling an adult client, I work to understand what you are seeking or experiencing, and then discuss which different therapeutic tools or approaches have been shown to help such symptoms or to that end. Usually several tools or solutions have been tried before someone seeks counseling, so I am interested to know what solutions have already been tried, and their results.
How I approach your presenting issues as an adult depends largely on how long you have been experiencing or struggling with whatever brings you to therapy. For recent or short-term stressors or traumas, my focus is to help you re-stabilize, process the experience, and embark on the next chapter of your life. Long-term or cumulative issues usually benefit most from a comprehensive and more long-term approach. My initial role in this case will be to assess your needs and history, identify where I can help, and sometimes identify what else is needed to give you the best chance of becoming free to move forward and grow.
Approaches I employ in counseling adults include psychodynamic, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and some cognitive-behavioral techniques. While I offer family or couple sessions as part of the treatment for an individual client, I do not routinely offer family or couple-focused counseling.
Children & Teens
Perhaps your child or teen is overwhelmed by worries or fears, has been hurt by someone, or there has been a death or divorce in the family. Sometimes children need help dealing with feelings and events so they can continue to grow and develop physically, emotionally, and otherwise.
My approach to therapy with children aims to provide your child with ways he or she can sort through feelings and challenges in a safe and supportive place, and learn skills to navigate life more happily and effectively. Because parents are such an important part of children’s lives, I often ask parents to meet with me briefly for 5-10 minutes of each session. This enables us to act as a team, and maximize the benefits of counseling in the child’s life. For teens, I give the option for them to be present when I speak to parents, to ensure opportunity for them to give input and know what is said.

Consultation & Supervision
I enjoy being part of my fellow professionals’ journeys and the cooperative learning process which takes place in consultation and supervision!
If you are interested in working together, please contact me or register in my secure portal for a copy of my current consultation or supervision agreement, or to arrange an introductory meeting to explore needs and availability.
As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant in EMDR, I offer consultation toward EMDRIA Certification, and Approved Consultant status. In addition to individual consultation, the following groups are available:
Monthly open EMDR study group. Any licensed mental health professional who has completed Basic Training in EMDR (formerly Level 2) is welcome to attend. There is no charge for this group. for the next meeting time/date for this group.
Consultation group for EMDRIA Certification, recurring depending on need/availability. Each group of 3-5 consultees meets 8 times for 90 minutes to complete the requirements for 10 hours of group consultation for EMDRIA Certification. This group is structured to ensure all members have opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in all 8 phases of the basic EMDR protocol.
I also offer individual clinical consultation on building a private practice, and assessment and treatment of complex trauma and dissociative disorders.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor, I offer supervision to those qualified as LPC-Interns during their process to complete hours toward full licensure, and to fellow LPCs who have been recommended to supervision by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.
- Fees & Scheduling
Fees & Scheduling
I offer private counseling to clients on a weekly, bi-weekly, or intensive basis. In general, therapy is most effective and goals are met most quickly when we meet regularly. Appointments are scheduled Monday-Thursday.
Payment is due for each session at the time services are rendered; I accept cash, check, credit cards, and PayPal. My fees are $150 for the first session (60 minutes), and subsequent sessions are $100 for 45 minutes, $125 for 60 minutes, and $200 for 90 minutes.
I do not take insurance. If you wish to submit receipts to insurance for reimbursement according to your benefits, I will provide the appropriate documentation to allow you to do so.
Intensive therapy (up to four 60 or 90 minute sessions spaced throughout one day) is often helpful to address recent traumatic events, resolve an identified block in therapy, and when schedule logistics do not allow for weekly appointments. An intake session is necessary to determine suitability for intensive therapy.
Prospective clients may register in my secure portal to schedule a phone call to discuss your needs in therapy. This portal will also allow you to send secure messages to me directly – please do not send extensive personal information via email.
