About My Practice
Welcome! I’m Michelle Browning and I am licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I provide family and marriage counseling as well as individual counseling for adults and adolescents ages 11 yrs old and up. My services are confidential and tailored to each individual client.
I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. I obtained mediator credentials in 2009 from the Dispute Resolution Center in Austin. I have experience working with with victims of domestic voilence and with court-mandated referrals for anger management.
I assist couples and families experiencing various forms of crisis. I am a EMDRIA Certified EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapist. I use EMDR Therapy to help individuals and couples process trauma, reduce anxiety, and address addiction/abuse issues.
In addition, I am a Prepare-Enrich facilitator – I help engaged couples prepare for marriage, as well as a Divorce & Beyond group therapy facilitator – helping individuals cope with the pain of divorce. I give various presentations tailored for parents/teens, women’s groups and for married couples. I’ve also presented emotional literacy and mediation competencies to middle and high school students.

Divorced & Beyond Program – a 10-week class for adults who are recently divorced or going through the process of divorce, to work through the pain of separating and rebuilding lives. The D&B class focuses on the difficulties, frustrations, emotions and transition of divorce, as well as work through individual grieving process – one week at a time. Divorce & Beyond seeks to help individuals find understanding and stability in everyday life.
