I received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and am a member of the AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy) as a Clinical Fellow.
Much of the work I do revolves around treating trauma, anxiety, depression and grief for individuals, couples and families. I help first responders from local law enforcement agencies with acute, recent trauma using EMDR Therapy. I work with individuals, couples, families and businesses.
The family and couples counseling work I do is spent determining the root causes of conflict and helping spouses/ family members work through emotional hurts and find new, healthier ways to interact and communicate.
Before embarking on a career in counseling, I spent 17 years working in the software development field as a senior engineer and software architect. Becoming a mediator created the transition from negotiating business contracts to negotiating new ways to resolve conflicts in relationships.
I give various presentations tailored for parents, teens, women’s groups and married couples on topics of communication and conflict resolution. I am an adjunct professor at Concordia University – Austin.
