About My Practice

Welcome! My name is Liz Heuertz, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with Intuitus Group Independent Professionals. I am excited that you have taken this step toward healing, and I invite you to explore how I can help you on your journey.

I provide counseling services for individual adults (21 years and older). I utilize talk therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to facilitate the counseling process. I enjoy helping others work through issues related to:

Fees and Scheduling

I provide services on a weekly and bi-weekly basis. I have found that therapy is most effective and efficient when regular appointment times are kept. I offer appointments during the weekdays and on select evenings.

Payment for each session is due at the time services are rendered. I accept cash, check, or credit cards. Checks can be made payable to Elizabeth Heuertz. My fees are $150 for the first session (55-60 minutes). Subsequent sessions are $150 for 55-60 minutes, and $225 for 90 minutes.

I do not accept insurance and do not participate in any insurance networks. If you would like to submit receipts to your insurance company for reimbursement according to your benefits, I can provide you with the appropriate documentation to do so.

My Approach

I operate from the belief that everyone is capable of change and growth regardless of where one is at in life, or what one has been through. However, how one achieves the change and growth desired is an important factor to consider.

I utilize a systemic approach, which views the individual in relation both to others and to self. This holistic approach utilizes a wide range of concepts including psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches, and organizes those concepts into a theoretical framework that provides a roadmap to change and growth.

When working with clients, I help them explore the various intellectual and emotional processes contributing to the present issue. These processes may stem from traumatic experiences in the past, dysfunctional family patterns, past relationships, insecure attachment styles, or learned beliefs and behaviors. In examining the processes, I help clients discover how they can manage and resolve these conflicts, creating healthier patterns and finding freedom from old wounds. I often utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to help resolve such conflicts and restore healthy internal and relational processes.

This approach has helped to facilitate long-lasting change, rather than merely providing symptom-management for my clients.
